The Sense of an Ending: Hunt for a lost diary or interactive flat narrative thriller ?

1.
The first thought lit my head’s filament what if I had succeeded to make love with one of those chubby and curvy milfs I was interested in adolescence.
Being an avid milf worshiper from the very tender age, I was more interested in their moms when talking about the girls of my same age. (American Pie and Stacy’s Mom were yet to come in our 90s drawing rooms while pc/internet was alien technologies.)
Ahoy! For sure Julian Barnes’ The Sense of an End is powerful enough to make a 90s kiddo suffering from nostalgia and sway with a vibe of first love and their mysterious parents, kiss, drugs, adolescent clique, jerking … and the list goes on as most of those are similar to that of Barnes’ time. We are some more than 50 years behind the European civilization (Now a days in 2018-19 witnessing a few Veronica-Tony-Adrian threesome... to some extent ‘that foursome’) and that’s NOT the piece is about.

Let me focus on the second thought- if the piece was merely about hunting for a mysterious diary of a ‘tender philosopher’ that would reveal something invaluable secret to understand life, detailed answer to a long broken relationship or sort of those brainfucking movies that foreplay for 2 hours and just before falling asleep bang like a stud right into the gap between two lobes ten or twenty minutes.

NO. It was certainly not that straightforward. It was a flat narrative of old memories, contaminated by brain itself for the sake of staying healthy, misinterpreting the surrounding- for hormone, showing own off or lack of enough efforts or guidance- and the ‘X factor’ that people beyond ‘average ones’  pursue rest of their life.

Barnes tells us nothing- what was the facts behind Robson or Adrian’s suicide, what happened to Veronica, if she really left Tony, the will of Sarah and was the young philosopher really a milf hunter ?

Nothing is told either decisively in 150 pages, only events are described in a way Barnes ‘can at least be true to the impressions those facts left.’ ...Barnes, not Tony.
I believe none can compose anything unexperienced, unseen or unheard. So are the audience who catch the tone and tune own piece of composition. .. Creators they are needless to say … and we live in memories…..

The Sense of an Ending is something like ‘fill-in-the-gaphs’ or ‘rearrange-sentences-into-paragraph’ we had to learn in school days.. they can be filled or formed in numerous correct ways... but under the influence of time, surroundings, experiences and mental condition. ‘Interactive,’ indeed !

I think this piece needs to be read twice- once from beginning to end for getting the plot and once again from the end to beginning …. armchair dicks in deerstalker, getting melancholic again or whatever … it’s ‘Interactive’ indeed !!

Post Script: The Sense of an Ending has some passages and quotations need to be underlined. And kiddos, if you think ‘I’ve consumed enough those mindfucking shits, and what’s next bro ? ’ A gray-bearded, pious Muslim man in his 40+ lent me the book to read when I suggested him two mindfucking movies and it took only three sittings for me to consume the whole 150 pages == 20 + 60 + 70. (English is my 2nd Language and I need dictionary every now and then.)
I've forgiven and now express cordial thanks to all the girls who left me for .......
